Hard cider, sparkling apple liquor made by two orchard owners in Nagano. Back in 2015, hard cider was still quite new in The US. Those farmers and our creative director had a journey in Oregon and Washington supported by Oregon state. After that They found their master and had training in Portland. Well known craft beer capital Portland is also where craft ciders open new doors. As the largest apple-producing region in North America, farmers and brewers work together to craft innovative products such as hopped ciders. The creativeness of the taste has become popular. BAUM has been working as a creative contributing partner with them from scratch. Developing concepts and brand including naming, packaging, messaging, test marketing and evangelizing this new alcohol in Japan.

The type of apple used is Granny Smith (Grandmother Smith). The naming was finalized as “Son of the Smith” to mean Grandma Smith’s funky son.

Granny Smith is a bright green color apple with a refreshing acidity. Son of the Smith also has an impressive finish with a crisp taste and a refreshing acidity. Packaging design expresses both elegance and mischievousness.After 4 years experience as phantom brewing team, their own factory has opened near Hakuba ,global skiers destination in spring 2020.
